Healthy soil is the confluence of earth, atmosphere, and us.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Just as the whole is greater than the sum of its parts…

Healthy soil is an expression of many life-affirming natural forces and processes, working in harmony. This is where earth, atmosphere, elements, minerals, and lives of plants, animals, and people interweave in synergistic communion. Our philosophy of inspired agriculture comes to life through the dynamic relationship of these beings and processes. Cultivating a meaningful relationship with Them and this gift we call the World is at the heart of Rose Hill Farm, that, and, celebrating the resulting ‘joi de vive’ with others.

ROSE HILL FARM

Empowered soil. Vibrant veggies. Healthy food. Joyful lives.

LEARN ABOUT OUR LAND

rich soil, rich tradition

Located on the loamy soil of an old dairy farm, in an area of Cincinnati that has been growing vegetables for over a hundred years, we are thrilled to pick up a spade and continue this rich, agricultural tradition.

Rose Hill Farm is young and growing.

It was created by David Chal and his family in 2019, and is founded on the belief that human beings have been given a great gift, the opportunity to consciously serve Creation as conduits of God’s presence on Earth. We believe that doing so helps to foster new, life-giving impulses for human beings and the natural world.

What is bio-dynamics?

Bio-dynamics is a farming system that goes beyond organic by managing the farm as a holistic system, striving to enhance the health of each natural process and synergize the life of the whole.

ROSE HILL FARM

As farmers, we strive to consciously participate in Nature’s Divine Symphony.

At Rose Hill Farm, we endeavor to act as composer and conductor, lovingly guiding all the organisms and processes on our farm—from the largest to the smallest— to contribute ever more powerfully and harmoniously to the symphony of Life. Just as music uplifts the soul, we strive to inspire and elevate our farm ecology, and grow fresh, delicious, and healthy produce that will do the same for you.

Meet the farmer, the husband, the friend.

David Chal has been farming vegetables bio-dynamically for many years and has traveled the world learning, and, savoring end of the day beers.

He loves being with people, celebrating life, receiving communion, studying spiritual science, experiencing community, and sitting under trees reading books…oh, and collaborating with soil, plants, and bees. He is devoted to his family and friends and strives to make Rose Hill a community space for them all.
